What to Expect At Discovery Camp
Discovery Camp was created to give your child the best summer experience. While learning important self development skills such as team work, respect for others, and how much God loves them. They will be making new friends and having the time of their summer! Our camp has been growing ever since its inception over 26yrs ago.
Our staff is educated in child development and we have Registered Nurses on duty at all times. All of us at Discovery Camp look forward to having another great summer with your children!

• Camps run every day from 9am - 12pm.
• Snacks are provided each day.
• All of our workers are trained and have passed
security background checks.
• Cost is $149 per child each week.

Meet Our Camp Directors!
Lorna Patton
Director of Discovery Camp Jr.
Lorna has been the Director of Discovery Jr. Camp for over 21yrs. From the beginning she has been committed to developing a first class program that parents trust and kids love. She has worked with kids for over 26 years and has been a pre-school teacher for over 16 years. She works each week in KidZone Children's Ministry at New Life Church in Trumbull.
Andrew Patton
Director of Discovery Camp
Andrew started Discovery camp over 26 years ago as an extension of "Veggie Camp" (now DC Jr.). He is also the Missions Ministry Pastor at New Life Church. Additionally, he was a Coach at Christian Heritage School in Trumbull for over 17 years. He has a B.A. in Elementary Education and has worked with children for over 34 years.
Chris Oosterman
Director of Discovery Camp
Chris started working at Discovery camp over 16 years ago as an intern and has been here ever since. He is the NL Kids Pastor at New Life Church, as well as our camp video editor. He has a B.A. in Children’s Ministry and has worked with children for over 23 years.
Become a Discovery Camp Volunteer
The role of a volunteer
As a camp volunteer, your job is to support your campers throughout the week of camp.
As a volunteer, you will:

- Instruct campers through daily activities such as outdoor games, story time, Crafts, and snack time.
- Be fully present with campers, listening when they want to talk, and giving them your full attention.
- Make sure campers, use appropriate language, resolve conflicts, make a new friends, eat, play, laugh, and have the best week of their year!
- Bring your unique talents, genuine heart, endless enthusiasm, and best self to this incredibly fun time in Discovery Camp.
Volunteers must be available for the entire week of camp, plus orientation day before camp begins. All volunteers will have an interview once they apply before they can attend camp. Volunteers will receive training in advance of camp as well as orientation when they get to camp.
What Camp Will Your Child Go To?
At Discovery Camp, we place campers in age oriented activities and age-specific groups. This way camp can be made more enjoyable for all ages.
Discovery Jr. Camp: 3-6 years old
Note: 3yr olds Must be independent in the bathroom.

Special Requests
Please keep in mind we have limited space.
• Any siblings requiring to be together, please notify the Directors prior to the first day of camp.
• Due to the large number of friends requesting to be grouped together, all requests must be made prior to the first day of camp, and will be accommodated at the Directors' discretion.
• We have Registered Nurses on staff at all times, any special medical information will be collected on the first day of camp.
• Any siblings requiring to be together, please notify the Directors prior to the first day of camp.

Be Prepared
• Arrive with Sunscreen, Sneakers, and Clothes that can get dirty each day you come to camp.
• On Friday, don't forget a Bathing Suit, a Towel with your child's name on it, and Dry Clothes to change into.
• Bring a Happy Face, so you don't have a run in with the fun police!
